Yes, it is possible to receive both premium tax credits and cost-sharing subsidies, provided you meet the eligibility criteria for both. To qualify, you must have a household income between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level for premium tax credits and between 100% and 250% of the federal poverty level for cost-sharing subsidies. Additionally, you must enroll in a Silver plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace to be eligible for cost-sharing reductions.
Note: as a result of one of the COVID relief bills, the 400% “subsidy cliff” has been eliminated through the end of 2025, so many individuals with incomes above 400% of the Federal Poverty Line will qualify for premium tax credits in 2024 and 2025.
